BioKoume’s ambition is to unlock the botanical potential of African forests and transform underused biological resources into high-value ingredients for global markets.

Starting with the Congo Basin, we are building a platform for responsible botanical innovation, with cosmetics as our first market and other bio-based applications to follow.

Our story

BioKoume grew out of doctoral research on the co-products of Okoume wood processing, funded by Gabon. It revealed the untapped potential of Okoume resin and bark.

Bpifrance supports the first steps of the technology.

Creation of BioKoume SAS. French Tech Emergence grant.

Deeptech label
Bpifrance recognises BioKoume as a deeptech company.

Botanical R&D
Development of the first Okoume-derived ingredients. First patent filed.

First ingredients
OKOULIXIR, OKOUVIA and Okoume essential oil. Resin extracts registered in Europe, the USA and China. Pass Africa label. Structuring responsible collection and local transformation in the Congo Basin.
