People are part of the forest economy

Forest communities play an essential role in the future of these territories. BioKoume aims to create additional income opportunities for women and young people living in forest areas through responsible resource collection and the development of new forest value chains.

Women can access new income-generating activities, while young people can find new opportunities within their communities rather than being forced to leave rural areas in search of work.

BioKoume is supported by local stakeholders in the development of the collection network.
